Aims & Objectives

Aims:
1. To understand the indications for surgery in diseased patients
2. To understand the techniques for pocket reduction
3. To understand when surgical crown lengthening may be indicated
4. To understand the techniques for surgical crown lengthening

Objectives:

By the end of the season participants will be able to:

1. Discuss the need for surgical approaches with patients
2. Perform a basic surgical technique with confidence
3. Use a continuous suturing technique
4. Carry out surgical crown lengthening procedures

0900 Surgery for disease control - why, when and how

1000 Basic surgical techniques

1100 Coffee

1120 Practical (pigs jaws) - basic surgical technique for pocket reduction

1300 Lunch

1345 Crown lengthening - why, when and how

1430 Practical (pigs jaws) - crown lengthening techniques

1530 Tea

1545 Review of treated cases

1630-1700 Close


All equipment and disposables will be provided. Participants should bring their own loupes.


VENUE

The hotel does not have a car park. However there is a public car park located on Forth Banks (12/24hrs) and the hotel can be accessed from Level 10.
