Format for the day:

The day will focus on the key components of the periodontal appointment, including information gathering and patient motivation. There will be an opportunity to look at treatment options and strategies, as well as the indications for referral.

Aims and Objectives:

On this day you will learn the following:

  1. What information do you require from the patient at the initial appointment?
  2. What items of medical history are relevant to dental hygiene care?
  3. What information does the patient require from you at the initial appointment?
  4. What options are available for treating the periodontal patient in general dental practice?
  5. How far can you get with non-surgical periodontal therapy?
